Is anyone aware of any lab-based techniques/commercially available systems for residual stress prediction using XRD at low angles (say 2theta = 20 to 50 deg)?
I am trying to measure residual stress in Cu beneath a layer of beryllium bonded to it. Molybdenum x-rays can get through the Be no problem, but push the diffraction peaks to low angles not normally possible on typical XRD residual stress systems, presumeably because the change in angle with strain becomes very small.
Any suggestions??
